Studies have shown that the late forties are the unhappiest time in most people lives. If you have navigated that time yourself, or are going through it, you’ll know what I mean. It was my own midlife crisis that led to the work I do today and the best time in my life.
Midlife is a transition that is full of possibilities, although it doesn’t feel that way when we are going through it. It is a time for reassessing, finding new purpose and meaning and understanding our needs. To navigate this stage in life with ease and grace it helps to have a coach or mentor.
If you are seeking a new purpose for yourself, a new challenge or direction, then you may want to consider becoming a midlife coach and mentor and if you don’t find the information you are seeking on this page, feel free to give me a call.
What a midlife coach and mentor does
Life coaching is about caring, listening, and questioning with the aim of helping clients to be happier and find meaning in life.
Mentoring is sharing what has worked for you.
As a midlife coach and mentor, you can work one-on-one with clients in a voluntary or paid capacity. You can lead mentoring groups, or you can conduct group coaching sessions.
One of the great benefits of doing a course such as this is that while learning how to support others you improve the quality of your own life. Graduates have told us that they have gained:
Greater clarity as to what makes them happy
A renewed sense of purpose
A feeling of excitement on getting up each day
Satisfaction, feeling they are exactly where they are meant to be and doing what they are meant to be doing.
If you love working with people, want to make a difference, value freedom and self-expression then most likely you will enjoy coaching and mentoring, but the big question that makes many hesitate is, How do I make a living from it?
The transition from being a paid employee to being a midlife coach can feel scary, but it doesn’t have to be a big risk.
There are three important factors in being successful at marketing.
1.You need to be confident about your ability to coach.
2. You need to know who your target market is.
3. You need to know how to connect with your target market.
During our training we cover all three of these steps. We want you to be a good coach, to fulfill your dream, so we include marketing and ongoing support in our program.
Can you be a midlife coach/mentor if your own life is not perfect?
Absolutely. None of us are perfect and it is through our own challenges we gain empathy and insight into why people act the way they do.
The most important thing any of us can do is to practice what we preach.
We provide our students with a large array of tools to use with clients, and that includes quizzes, exercises, and mindfulness practices.
